At Dietetics Done Differently, we go beyond food rules and meal plans. We integrate the science of nutrition with nervous system awareness, trauma-informed care, and deep respect for lived experience. Our approach is grounded in the belief that your relationship with food is shaped by far more than just knowledge - it's shaped by your story.
We see the person, not just the behaviour. Eating behaviours don't happen in a vacuum. All human behaviour serves a function - even things like emotional eating or comparison can be understood as survival strategies. When we explore why a behaviour occurs (not just what it looks like), we open up space for meaningful change.
For example, eating chocolate cake could be about joy, connection, hunger, comfort, stress relief—or something else entirely. Rather than making assumptions, we get curious. We trust your lived experience and support you to explore what’s behind the patterns.
Our foundation lies in motivational interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—therapeutic approaches that centre collaboration, curiosity, and compassion. We help you develop insight and awareness around your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, without getting overwhelmed or stuck in shame.
We are inclusive, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming. We’re committed to supporting people in a way that honours their unique context. This includes exploring how stigma, assumptions, and systemic barriers impact healthcare access, engagement, and outcomes. We strive to co-create a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered.
Who do we work with? We support people navigating:
● Trauma and eating
● Mental health challenges
● Eating disorders

We also offer online sessions for flexibility and accessibility.
Whether you’re feeling stuck with food, navigating distress around eating, or simply wanting to feel more grounded and confident in your body—we’re here to walk alongside you.
